摘要:Metacognition, the individual’s capability to monitor and self-regulate their own cognitive process, encompasses the metacognitive monitoring, a process in which the individual follows their own cognitive performance. The present study aimed to investigate the metacognitive monitoring in adults in process of alphabetization, according to their judgement of performance on cognitive tasks, and to observe possible correlations between real and estimated performance by the participants. The study consisted of 15 adults in a literacy program, of both genders and with ages ranging from 20 to 74. The materials applied were: Initial Interview; R-1 Test and subtests Digit Symbol-Coding, Symbol Search and Digit Span from WAIS III; Judgement Register from 0 to 10 and Judgement Register using a measurement object. Results indicated a significant correlation between the real performance of the subtests Digit Symbol-Coding, Symbol Search and Digit Span with their estimated performance from the judgement with a measurement object..
