  • 摘要:The study of the morphosedimentary dynamics of coastal spaces is important in order to understand the action of the agents and processes involved in the constitution of the landscape. The article presents the results of a research project aimed at describing the morphosedimentary features of the San Francisquito beach, on the coast of the state of Miranda in Venezuela. The project was divided into three research phases: 1) fieldwork: collection of superficial sediments every 100 meters along the beach and recording of morphodynamic wave parameters; 2) laboratory: analysis of the physical parameters of the sands (texture of the material, granulometric distribution parameters and their chemical parameters (CaCO 3 content, fraction of heavy and light minerals); and 3) desk work: statistical analysis of the data obtained. The deposit has an elongated shape, with medium (edge) and coarse (swash and breaker zones) sands, moderately selected and with a leptokurtic distribution. In terms of mineralogy, it is composed of >80% CaCO 3 and 8% of light fractions of quartz with sub-angular to sub-rounded edges, and an average of 6% heavy minerals. Wave height is 28.83 cm and wave speed is 1.52 cm/s. Bioclasts come from a reef barrier flanking the deposit as well as from the La Tortuga bank, located 79 km to the NE. Main Ideas: Research article that characterizes the morphosedimentary features present in the configuration of the San Francisquito beach, located on the coast of the State of Miranda on the Venezuelan Caribbean..
