摘要：Este artigo, objetiva analisar a partir da atividade dagerminação do feijão, as concepções dos alunos acerca do conhecimentoprévio e da aprendizagem dos temas da fotossíntese e respiração. Apesquisa foi desenvolvida em uma escola pública estadual, na cidade do Riode Janeiro. Participaram deste estudo 62 alunos de duas turmas do primeiroano do ensino médio. A intervenção da atividade da germinação do feijão,envolvendo cinco situações diferentes, foi realizada em três etapas: aanálise do conhecimento prévio dos alunos sobre os fenômenos dafotossíntese e respiração; a discussão das idéias prévias em grupo; e aexperimentação extraclasse, com elaboração de relatório individual. Combase nos resultados obtidos, percebeu-se uma evolução dos conhecimentossobre os temas envolvidos no decorrer das etapas, porém algumas idéiasalternativas se mostraram persistentes. Enfim, enfatiza-se a necessidade dese planejar o ensino desses conteúdos de modo a facilitar a aprendizagemsignificativa.
其他摘要：The work had as objective, to analyze, from the beangermination, the students' conceptions about the previous knowledge andthe learning of the themes of photosynthesis and respiration. This studyinvolved 62 students of first grade of the secondary education from a publicschool, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The experiment of the beangermination, involving five different situations, was accomplished in threedifferent stages: an analysis of the students' previous knowledge aboutphotosynthesis and respiration; a discussion of the previous ideas in group;and the home experimentation, with an elaboration of an individual report.With the obtained results, it was perceived an evolution of knowledgeinvolving photosynthesis and respiration; however some alternative ideaswere shown persistent. Finally, emphasized the need of planning theteaching of these themes in a way to facilitate a significant learning.
