摘要：O artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa qualitativaexploratória que teve por finalidade identificar e investigar a ocorrência demodelos mentais (Johnson-Laird, 1983) e representações, utilizadas porestudantes do segundo ano do ensino médio quando solicitados a explicar,de acordo com sua percepção, a produção e a propagação das ondas. Osresultados evidenciam o uso de representações analógicas construídas ouutilizadas com base em suas percepções do cotidiano. Guardam significadosinfluenciados pelo meio e pelas relações que estabelecem com ele quepodem ser evidenciadas nas respostas elaboradas pelos estudantes e nasimagens construídas para explicar as ondas que eles conheciam.
其他摘要：In this article, we show the results of a qualitative exploratoryresearching whose objective was identify and investigate occurrence ofrepresentation and mental models (Johnson-Laird, 1983), used for studentsin the second grade of the high school when asked them to explain,according their perceptions, the production and propagation of waves. Theresults demonstrate use built analogical representation or their dailyperceptions. Include meaning influenced to the ambient and relation with itobserved in the answers and illustrations elaborate to the students toexplain the waves known by them.
