摘要：Este artigo apresenta um estudo dos significados de fotossíntese produzidos por alunos do 6º ano do ensino fundamental. Utilizou-se uma atividade investigativa na abordagem de Bybee (2006), a qual foi desenvolvida a partir de um problema proposto para os alunos. Para a resolução do problema os estudantes tiveram acesso às representações semióticas verbais como o texto, e não verbais como uma figura representativa de fotossíntese. Para cada modo semiótico utilizado, os sujeitos elaboraram um pequeno texto evidenciando os significados atribuídos em cada modo utilizado. Ao final da atividade investigativa os mesmos sujeitos produziram um desenho indicando os elementos necessários para a planta realizar a fotossíntese e os elementos produzidos neste processo. A partir dos desenhos dos estudantes, foi-nos possível verificar as conexões, isto é, redes de significados que eles estabeleceram entre os modos representacionais utilizados ao desenvolverem a atividade investigativa, mediada por esses modos de representação.
其他摘要：This article presents a study about the meaning of photosynthesis produced by 6th years fundamental students. An investigative activity is used in the Bybee (2006) approach. This approach presented a problem for the students. In order to solve the proposed problem in the investigative activity, the students had access to verbal semiotic representations such as a text, and non-verbal such as a representative picture of photosynthesis. For each semiotic representation, the subjects elaborated a small text highlighting the given meanings in each one, using modal drawing. In the end of the investigative activity the same students produced a drawing indicating the necessary elements the plant needs to produce photosynthesis and the elements in this process. From these drawings, it was possible to check the connections, that is, the network of meanings that they established among the representational modals used when developing the investigative activity, through these multimodal representations.
