摘要：This paper gives the comparison of the starting performance of three phase induction motor fedfrom three-leg and two-leg ac voltage controller. Optimum firing angles are obtained for both thesystems by considering various electrical characteristics like maximum positive and negativetorque pulsations, peak starting current and acceleration time. Two group of induction motors areutilized for comparative analysis of performance with the selected optimum firing angle. Resultshows that the performances of both the systems are on par. Thus the cost effective, two-legcontroller is the better choice for the induction motor starting.
