  • 摘要:The distribution generator (DG) may be defined asthe small-scale power generation technology that provideselectricity closer to customers. The positive impacts of DG are:voltage support, power loss reduction, support of ancillaryservices and improved reliability. The investigation is done tostudy the impact of multi-DGs on power losses using the line lossreduction index (LLRI). The study has been carried out on IEEE14 bus system using Newton Raphson (NR) method for load flowanalysis. The investigation is carried out with the insertion of DGat different locations and the minima point was found. Theexperiment was performed with different sizes of DGs in mediumranges. The analysis of the results show that simply by increasingthe number of DGs in the system to reduce the losses is notbeneficial all the time. Beside the optimal location and size of DGfor the loss reduction in distribution system, number of DG is alsoa vital factor. In this work, it is concluded that the optimal numberof DGs is very important parameter to reduce the losses. The studygives the optimal number of DGs that could be installed in thedistribution system to have minimum line losses.
