摘要：Hoy en día las organizaciones deben contar con un buen control en todos sus departamentos para obtener una mayor eficiencia en el funcionamiento de la misma. Para poder realizar un inventario de mercancías dentro del almacén se necesita un método eficiente para evitar errores que lleven a registrar dos veces el mismo producto, no incluir a otros, detectar robos o extravíos. La presente investigación está centrada en el control de inventarios de artículos de almacén de una empresa dedicada a la venta de combustibles y lubricantes, el objetivo de este trabajo es destacar la importancia del uso de tecnologías de información para el mejoramiento de sus procesos, con el fin de garantizar su eficaz funcionamiento. Se desarrolló el control de inventarios de artículos de almacén en una pequeña empresa mediante la aplicación de un software libre, que permitió a través de este, mejorar los proceso de entradas y salidas de mercancías, además de disminuir las fallas detectadas en cuanto al manejo de los artículos, pues este software contribuyó al registro de los movimientos de las mercancías de manera fácil y rápida, dando como resultado el control eficaz de cada uno de los artículos disponibles para la venta generando un reporte de faltantes, con ello se logró mejorar el control interno de los inventarios de la empresa sujeta a estudio. Se destaca que, al hacer uso de un software libre, la empresa disminuye considerablemente sus costos en el manejo de sus inventarios.

To be able to carry out a merchandise inventory inside the warehouse, is needed an efficient method to avoid mistakes that lead to registering the same product twice, not including others, detecting theft or loss. The present investigation is centered in the control of inventories of articles of warehouse of a company dedicated to the sale of fuels and lubricants, the aim of this work is to emphasize the importance of the use of information technologies for the improvement of its processes, with the in order to guarantee its effective functioning. Inventory control of warehouse items was developed in a small company through the application of free software, which allowed through it, to improve the process of goods in and out, as well as to reduce the flaws detected in the handling of goods. the articles, because this software contributed to the registration of the movements of the merchandise in an easy and fast way, resulting in the effective control of each of the items available for sale, generating a report of missing items, thereby improving control internal inventory of the company subject to study. It is highlighted that, by making use of free software, the company considerably reduces its costs in the management of its inventories.
