摘要：El presente artículo tiene como finalidad abordar la importancia de la alfabetización científica en la sociedad a partir de una reflexión teórica, de tal manera que puedan incorporarse los conocimientos en los diferentes niveles educativos y de esta manera influir en diversos aspectos de la vida cotidiana, tales como, la toma de decisiones, las opiniones que se tienen respecto a distintos temas de índole social con los fundamentos pertinentes, para resolver problemáticas actuales y mejorar las condiciones sociales y educativas de un país, todo lo anterior, a partir de la divulgación científica que se entiende como parte fundamental en la función de investigación. Es un estudio teórico y descriptivo que presenta la evidencia teórica documentada de la realidad académica.
