摘要：Cet article cherche à établir quel fut le rôle du célèbre céramiste Josiah Wedgwood dans la création et la diffusion d’un goût nouveau, expression d’une identité typiquement britannique. Par la mise au point de matières innovantes, la production de médaillons-portraits et la réalisation du Frog Service, Wedgwood contribua à proposer une image nouvelle de la Grande-Bretagne et à faire évoluer le statut de ses propres produits ainsi que celui de l’industrie naissante.
其他摘要：This article examines the role of Josiah Wedgwood, the famous potter, in the shaping and spreading of a new, typically British taste. By developing innovative ceramic substances, producing portrait-medallions and manufacturing the Frog Service, Wedgwood was instrumental in moulding the new image of Britain. But he also managed to modify the status of both his own production and that of the nation’s budding industry.
