摘要：El artículo hace una revisión del desarrollo sostenible como paradigma para guiar la dinámica turística en destinos costeros, planteando la necesidad de hacer evaluaciones locales. Se analiza Mazatlán, México con indicadores para aspectos económico, social, cultural, ambiental y de gobernanza, con el propósito de identificar qué tanto se acerca a un turismo sostenible. Los resultados apuntan a replantearse el modelo turístico que se desarrolla en este y otros destinos mexicanos, considerando que de continuar así los costos sociales y ambientales superarán con creces los beneficios económicos.
其他摘要：The article makes a review of sustainable development as a paradigm to guide the tourist dynamics in coastal destinations, raising the need to make local evaluations. Mazatlan, Mexico is analyzed with indicators for economic, social, cultural, environmental and governance aspects, in order to identify how close a sustainable tourism is. The results point to the rethinking of the tourism model in this and other Mexican destinations, considering that to continue with it, the social and environmental costs will far exceed the economic benefits.
