摘要：L’objectiu d’aquest article és el de proposar una nova aproximació crítica a l’obra de Vittorio Pica (1862-1930), crític d’art italià, i els seus interessos sobre la pintura moderna espanyola i especialment sobre Joaquín Sorolla. El punt de partida ha estat la descoberta d’una col·lecció significativa de cartes inèdites de Pica, adrec¸ades a Sorolla, i datades entre 1901 i 1914. Tenint en compte una consideració més àmplia sobre el paper que Pica tingué en centrar la seva atenció en les recerques artístiques més avanc¸ades de finals del XIX, aquest article proposa també revisar la fortuna que Sorolla aconseguí a Itàlia a inicis del segle XX: des de les seves participacions a la primera Exposició Internacional d’Art a Venècia, l’adquisició de la seva pintura Cociendo la vela en les col·leccions del Museu Modern Galleria Ca’ Pesaro, fins a la seva presència a l’Exposició Internacional d’Art a Roma el 1911.
其他摘要：This article presents a new appraisal of the work of the Italian art critic Vittorio Pica (1862-1930), an admirer of modern Spanish painting, and especially of Joaqu´ın Sorolla. Our starting point is the recently discovered collection of letters from Pica to Sorolla dated between 1901 and 1914. Taking a broad view of Pica’s studies of the artistic avant-garde of the late nineteenth century, the article also traces Sorolla’s fortunes in Italy at the beginning of the twentieth: his participation in the first International Art Exhibition of Venice, the acquisition of his painting Cociendo la vela by the Ca’ Pesaro Modern Art Gallery, and his presence at the International Art Exhibition of Rome in 1911.
