摘要:This paper aims to present the result of a research concerning an exploratory study, conducted to identify the predominant leadership styles in business managers of the city of Bucaramanga and its surrounded area in Colombia. To this end, after a representative sampling-process definition, an assessment tool based on the model of four frames of leadership and its subsequent statistical analysis of the results was applied over 329 top managers. Considering the above, we found, in general, that managers in the AMB tend to apply practices such as defining objectives, procedures, and clear rules, and their way of direction is mainly through the analysis and designing of widely accepted plans; and in lesser extent to practices such as employee development, encouraging internal competition, conflict resolution and a conformation of a power base to lead others. Moreover, statistical links among the founded styles and some socio-demographic variables are presented as additional contributions.
