摘要:Time of digital platforms, that in a certain way marked the beginning of the third millennium, ischaracterized by growing influence both traditional and new media. From the standpoint of the mediainfluence on creation of personal attitudes, but also of public opinion, we can not ignore the increasingneed for media literacy of citizens. In recent years, media literacy is an important part of media policyand media regulation of the European Union. In determining the concept of media literacy, it is necessaryto point out the difference between digital literacy as skill of using software and computers, and medialiteracy as a critical attitude towards manipulation and propaganda. Through both definitions of medialiteracy, the requirement for continuous improvement within the school, but also within other subsystemsof society permeates.Is there an illusion of media literacy in Serbia? Problem of the research is reflectedin the question: How high school students evaluate their media literacy? The study sample consisted of200 “First Kragujevac High School” students in Kragujevac. For the collection and processing of data“Media literacy scale - SMP - NS” (Mihić and Kodžopeljić, 2011) was used. The research results indicatethat media literacy among high school students is not satisfactory.
