摘要：Neste trabalho, contaremos com o arcabouço teórico advindo de duas áreas do conhecimento linguístico: a Retórica e a Linguística Textual. Delas, tomaremos, respectivamente, os conceitos de argumento de autoridade e intertextualidade. Buscaremos demonstrar de que maneira a percepção (consciente ou não) da presença de um intertexto pode exercer sobre o leitor o efeito persuasivo de argumento de autoridade. Para isso, tomamos como corpus a carta-testamento atribuída a Getúlio Vargas e efetuamos uma análise de cunho qualitativo de seus elementos retórico-argumentativos, notadamente do argumento de autoridade. A análise empreendida permitiu, dentre outras constatações, elucidar de que maneira a intertextualidade pode exercer o papel de argumento de autoridade em um discurso.
其他摘要：In this paper, we will refl ect upon the theoretical framework of two linguistic areas, the rhetoric and text linguistics. Then, departing from these areas, we will refl ect upon the concepts of argument of authority and intertextuality. Our objective is to demonstrate in which manner the perception of presence (conscious or not) of an intertext may exert on the reader, regarding the persuasive effect of arguments from authority. To that end, the corpus comprises the letter of testament accredited to Getúlio Vargas, on which we have performed a qualitative analysis of its rhetorical-argumentative elements, focusing on the argument from authority. The proposed analysis has allowed us to elucidate, among other observations, how intertextuality may exert the role of argument from authority in a discourse.
