摘要：Este artigo lida com a experiência imigrantista intensificada no Brasil durante as últimas décadas do Império, principalmente por fazer parte das demandas dos setores agrícolas. Pretende-se contribuir para esta discussão ao refletir sobre a criação de uma política de atração de imigrantes e sobre a posição de destaque dada à natureza neste momento. Com esse intuito, busca-se analisar a apropriação dos motivos edênicos da natureza brasileira que remontam ao período colonial. Assim, como se procura comparar a importância recíproca desses três fatores, natureza, imigração e agricultura nos discursos dos diferentes atores ligados diretamente às questões como a ocupação e defesa do território e a transição da mão de obra escrava para a livre.
其他摘要：This article deals with the immigration experience intensified in Brazil during the last decades of the Empire, especially to be part of the demand for agricultural sectors. It is intended to contribute to this discussion by reflecting on the creation of a policy to attract immigrants and the prominent position given to nature at this time. To that end, we seek to analyze the appropriation of edenic grounds of Brazilian nature dating back to the colonial period. Thus, looking like comparing the mutual importance of these three factors, nature, immigration and agriculture in the discourses of different actors directly connected to issues like the occupation and defense of the territory and the transition from labor-slave for free labor.
