摘要:Purity was the central theme of cultic regulations in polytheistic antique texts. Part of it were sexual prohibitions. This article gives an overview of these regulations as regards the epigraphical and papyrological evidence, especially examining the specific contexts thereof, i. e. It will address the when, the where, the who, and the how long. These considerations will allow to set up some ground rules of sexual prohibitions in regard to the questions mentioned above for all the Greek documentary evidence.
