摘要：Este artículo pretende analizar la controvertida figura del director, cuyo perfil para la Primaria y la Secundaria fue convergiendo y definiéndose entre el comienzo del franquismo y la actualidad desde los diversos modelos legales que se sucedieron. En el caso de la Primaria, la dirección discurre paralela al nacimiento y evolución de la escuela graduada. En el caso de la Secundaria, su origen no es tan reciente, en la medida que este nivel está tradicionalmente adscrito a la Universidad. Otro aspecto analizado serán las cuestiones conflictivas en tomo a la dirección que han aparecido en el periodo analizado, en particular el de la "profesionalización". Este las principales conclusiones, se ofrece una perspectiva histórica en relación con la selección, formación y funciones de la dirección y se observa que nunca ha existido una función directiva profesional.
其他摘要：This article tries to analyze the controversial figure of the director, whose profile for Primary and Secondary was converging and being defined between the beginning of the Francoism and the present time from the different legal models that followed one another. In the case of Primary, the direction runs parallel to the birth and evolution of the graduate school. In the case of Secondary, its origin is not so recent, to the extent that this level is traditionally assigned to the University. Another aspect analyzed will be the conflicting questions regarding the direction that have appeared in the analyzed period, in particular that of "professionalization". This the main conclusions, a historical perspective in relation to the selection, formation and functions of the direction is offered and it is observed that there has never been a professional directive function
