摘要：Los conocimientos previos que poseen los estudiantes cuando ingresan a la universidad, pueden ser considerados como un arma de dos filos. Por una parte, si estos conocimientos fueron aprendidos de manera significativa pueden ser utilizados como una herramienta de apoyo, al momento de que dichos estudiantes intentan resolver las distintas tareas algebraicas que enfrentarán durante su formación académica. Sin embargo, si no fueron comprendidos de manera correcta, pueden convertirse en obstáculos cognitivos difíciles de superar, al tratar de aplicar dichos conocimientos en los nuevos contextos que se les presentarán. Esta investigación presenta un estudio cualitativo mediante la aplicación de 20 entrevistas semiestructuradas en estudiantes universitarios, donde se analizaron sus respuestas a una prueba escrita basada en los ítems obtenidos del trabajo de Matz (1980). Los resultados nos indican que los conocimientos previos de los estudiantes entrevistados fungen más como obstáculos que como apoyo.
其他摘要：The previous knowledge that the students possess when they enter the university, can be considered like a weapon of two edges. On the one hand, if these knowledge were learned in a meaningful way they can be used as a support tool, at the moment when the students try to solve the different algebraic tasks that they will face during their academic formation. However, if they were not understood correctly, they can become difficult cognitive obstacles to overcome, when trying to apply that knowledge in the new contexts that will be presented to them. This research presents a qualitative study through the application of 20 semi-structured interviews in university students, where their answers to a written test based on the items obtained from the work of Matz (1980) were analyzed. The results indicate that the previous knowledge of the students interviewed serves more as obstacles than as support.
