摘要：En este trabajo se estudian pilas de mármol que arribaron a Canarias durante las décadas centrales del siglo XVIII y pueden vincularse en diversa forma con artistas gaditanos de ese periodo, en especial con el labrante Salvador Alcaraz y Valdés. La lectura ofrecida incide en su relación con las medidas mercantiles del momento y en la participación de los comitentes o intermediarios como sujetos principales del comercio artístico, todo ello sin descuidar otros asuntos de naturaleza contextual.
