摘要：Este texto, de carácter testimonial y biográfico, quiere ser un homenaje compartido a la memoria de quien fue maestro de antropólogos y, al mismo tiempo, el creador de la mayoría de las estructuras institucionales que permitieron la consolidación de nuestra disciplina en Cataluña. El alcance de su obra pionera es indispensable, también, para entender la forma en que la antropología social encontró su lugar en las estructuras universitarias y de investigación de España. La trayectoria vital de Claudi Esteva Fabregat vino marcada, ante todo, por la Guerra Civil española, que supuso su exilio en México (1939-1956). Su periplo vital supuso más cambios residenciales: Madrid (1956-1968), Barcelona (1968-2002), de nuevo México (2002- 2016). En septiembre de 2017 murió en su Barcelona natal, justo cuando estaba a punto de cumplir 99 años.
其他摘要：This text, of a testimonial and biographical nature, is intended to be a shared tribute to the memory of the man who was teacher of anthropologists and, at the same time, the creator of most of the institutional structures that allowed the consolidation of our discipline in Catalonia. The extent of his groundbreaking work is essential to understand the way in which social anthropology found its place in the university and research institutions of Spain. Claudi Esteva Fabregat's life trajectory was marked, above all, by the Spanish Civil War, which led to his exile to Mexico (1939-1956). His life journey entailed more residence changes: Madrid (1956-1968), Barcelona (1968-2002), Mexico again (2002-2016). In September 2017 he died in his native Barcelona, just as he was about to turn 99.
