摘要：Este trabalho objetiva identificar a proteção que o ordenamento jurídico brasileiro oferece à água potável. Considera que é preciso ir além do Direito, exigindo educação, conscientização e atitudes ambientais. Compreende, ainda, que os instrumentos normativos oferecidos pelo Direito, apesar de indispensáveis, são incapazes, per si, de salvaguardarem o bem a cuja proteção se destinam. Diante da gravidade do problema que aflige a sociedade, comprometendo a existência de vidas humanas e de outras formas de vida, está-se a exigir mudança de paradigma. Nessa perspectiva, reconhecendo que a escassez de água potável é um fato incontestável, este trabalho identifica a proteção que o ordenamento jurídico brasileiro oferece a esse bem essencial à vida no Planeta Terra. Ademais, propõe alternativas que vão além dessa proteção, tais como a educação, a conscientização e atitude ambiental. O estudo é multidisciplinar, reclamando a contribuição de diversos campos do conhecimento científico.
其他摘要：The protection provided by Brazilian law with regard to drinkable water is discussed. However, one must go beyond the Law and demand education, conscience-raising and environmental attitudes to achieve the above aim. Although the Law-enforcing normative tools are indispensable, they are in themselves unable to guarantee the object under protection. Due to the gravity of this social issue which may jeopardize human existence on earth and other forms of life, a paradigmatic change is mandatory. Since drinkable water is scarce, current research identifies the protection that Brazilian law provides for such a fundamental asset for the planet’s life. Current multidisciplinary-based article recommends alternatives such as education, conscience-raising and environmental attitudes, and requires the contribution of other fields of knowledge to this end.
