摘要：Impreso entre 1910 y 1919, el Diccionario biográfico obrero de Chile fue el primer libro de su género hecho en América Latina en el siglo xx. Coordinado por el periodista Osvaldo López, este diccionario buscó visibilizar las trayectorias de líderes y representantes del mundo obrero chileno para los inicios del siglo. Aunque la obra ha servido como fuente para muchas pesquisas, es poco lo que se sabe sobre su proceso de producción y aún menos lo que se conoce sobre sus contenidos generales, y lo que estos indican sobre las élites obreras, sus autoimágenes, objetivos o cultura impresa. Por ello, este artículo busca aportar al estudio de esta biografía colectiva, reconstruyendo su historia editorial y examinando la función clave que identificó al conjunto biografiado: la sociabilidad.
其他摘要：Printed between 1910 and 1919, the Diccionario biográfico obrero de Chile was the first book of its kind produced in Latin America in the twentieth century. Coordinated by journalist Osvaldo López, this dictionary sought to show the trajectories of leaders and representatives of the Chilean labor world to the beginning of the century. Although this work has served as a source for many investigations, little is known about its production process, and even less about their general contents, and what they indicate about the labor elites, their self-images, objectives or print culture. Therefore, this paper seeks to contribute to the analysis of this collective biography, by rebuilding its publishing history and examining the key feature which identified the workers: sociability.
