摘要：O objetivo deste trabalho é oferecer alguns elementos teóricos que contribuam para a elucidação de questionamentos sobre os pneumáticos, apontando o potencial do tema para problematizações.Discorre-se ao longo do texto sobre a evolução histórica do pneumático, bem como, sobre os conceitos físicos básicos necessários para a compreensão dos mesmos.Acredita-se que essa discussão, além de elucidar muitas dúvidas cotidianas sobre os pneus, possa servir de referência para professores, uma vez que, surpreendentemente o tema de pneus está ausente nos livros de física geral de Ensino Médio e Superior.
其他摘要：The objective of this paper is to provide some theoretical elements that contribute to the elucidation of questions about the tires, indicating the potential of the subject problematizations. We discourse along the text on the historical evolution of the tire, as well as on the necessary basic Physics concepts to understand them. It is believed that this discussion, besides elucidating many everyday questions about the tires, it can be used as a reference for teachers, since, surprisingly, the subject of tires is absent in Physics textbooks of High School and University.
