摘要：Este artigo apresenta os resultados da análise da relação entre o ambiente e a saúde da população nas bacias dos rios Alto Ribeirão e Ribeirão do Porto, sul da Ilha de Santa Catarina.Para isso, foram analisadas as condições hídricas e sócio-ambientais das localidades; identificadas as políticas públicas de saneamento básico implantadas na área e averiguadas a situação das doenças de veiculação hídrica nos centros de saúde locais.Os resultados evidenciam a estreita ligação entre o ambiente e a saúde, e mostram como a ausência ou inadequação dos sistemas de esgotamento sanitário, torna o ambiente insalubre e aumenta os riscos da população contrair as doenças de veiculação hídrica.
其他摘要：This article presents the results of the analysis of the relationship between environment and health of the population in the basins of the rivers Alto Ribeirão and Ribeirão do Porto, in the south of the Island of Santa Catarina. For this, the water and socio-environmental conditions of the towns were analyzed; the basic sanitation government policies implanted in the area were identified and the situation of the hydric related diseases in the local centers of health was inquired. The results demonstrate the close relationship between environment and health, and show how the absence or inadequacy of sanitation systems makes the environment unhealthy and increases the risks of people contracting the hydric related diseases.
