Frente a esta visión, se plantea un planteamiento del texto y de la coherencia textual en términos del proceso de actividad conjunta de los participantes. El significado no es "transmitido" por el productor e interpretado por el receptor, sino que es construido colectivamente. Esta visión del texto y el lenguaje es compatible con los desarrollos más recientes en la teoría de la cognición, que ven a ésta como corporeizada pero también como situada y dirigida a un fin.

Opposing this view, a new perspective on the text and textual coherence is introduced, and they are now seen as the process of joint activity of the participants. This view of the text and languaje is compatible with the most recent developments in cognition theory, according to which cognition is embodied but also situated and goal-directed.
