摘要：A História das Mulheres é um empreendimento relativamente novo e revelador de uma profunda transformação: está vinculado estreitamente à concepção de que as mulheres têm uma história, não são apenas destinadas à reprodução, são agentes históricos e possuem uma historicidade das relações entre os sexos. Refletir e escrever tal história significa levá-las a sério, superar o espinhoso problema das fontes e criticar a própria estrutura de um relato apresentado como universal, nas próprias palavras que o constituem, não somente para explicitar os vazios e os elos ausentes, mas para sugerir uma outra leitura possível.

To reflect and write such a story means taking them seriously, overcome the thorny problem of the sources and criticize the structure of a story presented as universal, in the words that are not only to explain the gaps and missing links, but also to suggest another possible reading.
