摘要：RESUMO:Neste artigo propomos analisar a socioespacialização dos sujeitos que habitam as margens e ilhas do Rio São Francisco em seu médio curso, no estado de Minas Gerais. Definimos nossos aportes teóricos conceituais de pesquisa, tomando a identidade, a territorialidade e os vínculos territoriais delineados por Hall (2005; 2011), Castells (1999, 2002), Almeida (2008; 2008a), Claval (1995, 1999), Saquet (2009, 2010), Haesbaert (1999; 2007), Cruz (2006; 2007; 2011), Diegues (2001, 2008), Moley (2005), Heidrich (2009) e Gimenez (1999), indispensáveis em nossas reflexões. Enquanto metodologia optamos pela pesquisa geográfica qualitativa tendo como suporte autores como Triviños (1987), Godoy (1995; 1995a) e Brandão (2006). Assim, na pesquisa tivemos um duplo olhar, um mais voltado para os marcos históricos de formação do território, compreendendo o Rio São Francisco por meio de suas temporalidades, e o outro mais voltado para a compreensão das múltiplas identidades que são construídas a partir da percepção, da vivência e da r-existência em um território de vida e trabalho.Palavras-chave: Identidades; Territorialidades; Comunidades.ABSTRACT:In this article we propose to analyze the socioespacialization of the subjects that inhabit the banks and islands of the São Francisco River in their middle course, in the state of Minas Gerais. We define our theoretical conceptual contributions of research, taking the identity, territoriality and territorial links delineated by Hall (2005, 2011), Castells (1999, 2002), Almeida (2008, 2008a), Claval (1995, 1999), Saquet (2005), Moley (2005), Heidrich (2009) and Gimenez (1999), indispensable in our reflections. As a methodology we opted for qualitative geographic research supported by authors such as Triviños (1987), Godoy (1995; 1995a) and Brandão (2006). Thus, in the research we had a double look, one more focused on the historical landmarks of territory formation, understanding the São Francisco River through its temporalities, and the other more focused on the understanding of the multiple identities that are constructed from the perception, of living and of existence in a territory of life and work.Keywords: Identities; Territorialities; Communities.
