摘要：The following paper is about the knowledge and technologies of rice cultivation that enslaved Africans brought from West Africa to colonial South Carolina. The paper examines why and in what ways West African technologies of rice cultivation were used and adapted in South Carolina to maximise production and profits, how rice production evolved after the Civil War in 1865, and whether there were any further developments in US rice cultivation.
