摘要：Jose Mª Merino no es sólo uno de los autores contemporáneos más afianzados del microrrelato español, sino que además, como creador, ha aportado nuevas claves al estudio de este tipo de textos desde varias perspectivas; mientras que en La trama oculta: cuentos de los dos lados con una silva mínima Merino aglutina varios ensayos en los que disecciona las características esenciales de la ficción breve, también nos encontramos con los metamicrorrelatos recogidos en La glorieta miniatura, a través de los cuales el escritor construye una meticulosa poética sobre el género, definiendo muchos de sus rasgos fundacionales. La glorieta de los fugitivos es el libro que aglutina casi la totalidad de sus textos dedicados al microrrelato; este volumen consta de tres partes: la primera compuesta por Días imaginarios, Cuentos del libro de la noche e Inéditos y dispersos; la segunda, La glorieta miniatura (veinticinco pasos) y, por último, un apéndice con Diez cuentines congresistas. Son precisamente estas dos últimas secciones las que nos interesan: la primera por constituir en sí misma un manifiesto teórico del microrrelato; y la segunda por presentar, aludiendo a los especialistas a quienes van dirigidos, las controversias que este género es capaz de despertar.

La glorieta de los fugitivos is the book that brings together almost all of its texts dedicated to micro-fiction; This volume consists of three parts: the first composed by Días imaginarios, Cuentos del libro de la noche e Inéditos y dispersos; the second, the La glorieta miniatura (veinticinco pasos) and, finally, an appendix with Diez cuentines congresistas. It is precisely these last two sections that interest us: the first to constitute in itself a theoretical manifesto of the micro-story; and the second to present, alluding to the specialists to whom they are addressed, the controversies that this genre is capable of awakening.
