摘要：O objetivo do presente artigo é analisar a crise do Estado Social e como ela impõe que se repense a universidade. O problema é que a universidade tem enfrentado, além da crise econômica, também uma crise de legitimidade, que faz com que as restrições orçamentárias que lhe são impostas não enfrentem a reprovação popular que se esperava. Utilizando-se do método dedutivo e a partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica de cunho histórico e exploratório, conclui-se que a universidade deve adotar medidas aptas a produzir conhecimento pluriversitário e garantir que a sociedade reconheça a sua importância.
其他摘要：The purpose of this article is to analyze the crisis of the Social State and how it imposes the rethinking of the university. The problem is that the university has faced, in addition to the economic crisis, also a crisis of legitimacy, which makes the budgetary restrictions imposed on it do not face the popular reprobation that was expected. Using the deductive method and from a bibliographical research of historical and exploratory nature, it is concluded that the university must adopt measures capable of producing multi-level knowledge and ensure that society recognizes its importance.
