摘要：O artigo é uma abordagem do romance Eles eram muitos cavalos, de Luiz Ruffato, cuja cidade de São Paulo é espaço e ao mesmo tempo personagem da narrativa, que trata, por meio de um olhar agudo daquele que narra, de um dia na cidade de São Paulo. Partindo dessa idéia, o autor monta um mosaico de vozes silenciosas, em que o único elo possível é o fio constituído pela vida na cidade global, a São Paulo do século XXI, que Ruffato atualiza em linguagem literária, valendo-se de outras linguagens, para chegar à melhor solução estética do texto: “fotogramas” montados de tal modo que dão a impressão de que nada escapou do olhar daquele que enquadra o foco; nenhum lugar dessa geografia humana, bizarra e complexa, fica de fora. This paper discusses Luiz Ruffato’S novel, Eles eram muitos cavalos , in which the city of São Paulo is both a space and a narrative character. The writer presents a moisaic of silent voices while describing a day in the city of São Paulo through the sharp view of the narrator. The only possible link is the line formed by the life in this global city: the 21st century São Paulo. Ruffato resorts to literary language to recreate the city, but he also makes use of other languages to achieve the best aesthetic solution of the text: “photograms”. They are built in a careful way so that nothing is left out of the focusing eye; no place of this complex and bizarre human geography is forgotten.
