摘要：O desenvolvimento das políticas públicas regionais e as transformações contemporâneas exercidas pelo processo de inovação estão correlacionadas com a integração entre as instituições de ensino superior, empresas e governo, tendo como base o uso da ciência e da inovação para a redução do grau de disparidade socioeconômica existente. O presente estudo trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, sendo conduzida por uma análise documental, tendo como base as instituições de ensino superior participantes do IV Simpósio de Pesquisas do Grande ABC (SPGABC), em 2014. A pesquisa mostra o envolvimento das instituições de ensino superior do Grande ABC em ações de inovação e políticas públicas regionais. Como resultado, verificou-se que algumas instituições de ensino superior têm um maior envolvimento com políticas públicas regionais, e outras possuem um maior envolvimento com processos de inovação. Dessa forma, foi possível compreender o modo de atuação e vocação dessas instituições perante seus stakeholders , bem como identificar sua contribuição para o crescimento e desenvolvimento do Grande ABC.
其他摘要：The development of regional public policies and the contemporary transformations carried out by the innovation process are correlated with the integration between higher education institutions, companies and government, based on the use of science and innovation to reduce the degree of socioeconomic disparity. The present study is an exploratory research, being conducted by a documentary analysis, based on the higher education institutions participating in the IV Symposium of Research of the Great ABC – SPGABC (2014). The research shows the involvement of higher education institutions of the great ABC in innovation actions and regional public policies. As a result, it has been found that some higher education institutions are more involved with regional public policies, while others are more involved with innovation processes. In this way, it was possible to understand the way these institutions act and their vocation to their stakeholders, as well as to identify their contribution to the growth and development of the great ABC.
