摘要：este artigo analisa o processo de desenvolvimento do turismo patrimonial no Bairro Histórico da cidade de Colônia do Sacramento, Uruguai, inscrito na Lista do Patrimônio Cultural da Humanidade, pela UNESCO, em 1995. O Bairro é um conjunto excepcional de arquitetura colonial portuguesa do século XVII que passou por diversas ações de intervenção patrimonial nas últimas cinco décadas. Essas ações foram incentivadas pelo interesse turístico que sempre permeou os discursos e práticas de patrimonialização local. Anteriormente à sua chancela internacional, sua condição patrimonial já era promovida como um diferencial turístico, mas sem grande relevância. Contudo, foi através da reconstrução do seu conjunto urbano, a partir da década de 1960, aliada ao incentivo turístico-comercial e a inscrição pela UNESCO que o Bairro desenvolveu-se como atrativo turístico-patrimonial.
其他摘要：this article examines the development process of heritage tourism in Historic
Quarter of the city of Colonia do Sacramento, Uruguay, listed by UNESCO as a World
Heritage Site in 1995. The Historical Quarter is an exceptional set of portuguese colonial
architecture of the seventeenth century that has gone through several actions of heritage
intervention in recent decades. These actions were encouraged by tourist interest that has
always permeated the speeches and local cultural heritage practices. Before to its
international recognition, its cultural heritage condition was promoted as a tourist differential,
but no great importance. However, it was through the reconstruction of its urban set, from the
1960’s, coupled with the tourist-commercial incentive and seal by UNESCO that the
Historical Quarter has become an example of heritage tourism destination.
