摘要：A relação do adolescente com a literatura é bastante própria. Partindo dessa ideia e das considerações de Ricardo Piglia em O último leitor , o presente artigo pretende abordar a figura do leitor adolescente no livro As vantagens de ser invisível , de Stephen Chbosky. Ao longo do livro, o protagonista, Charlie, lê uma série de obras literárias, por indicação de seu professor de inglês, Bill, que percebe uma grande habilidade de leitura e compreensão no menino. O que se observa, porém, é que Charlie apresenta certa dificuldade em realmente apreender a mensagem dos livros, e as falhas de interpretação parecem estar diretamente relacionadas à sua dificuldade de ver e interagir com o mundo ao seu redor. O trabalho analisa as instâncias dessa leitura limitada por parte do menino, e o que está por trás dela, buscando também as relações entre o ato de interpretar e o autoconhecimento e a (não) passividade.
其他摘要：The relationship between adolescents and literature has its own special characteristics. Departing from
this thought and from the ideas developed by Ricardo Piglia in O último leitor, this article aims to discuss
the figure of the teenage reader in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky. Throughout the
book, the main character, Charlie, reads a variety of literary works recommended to him by his English
teacher Bill, who noticed that the boy had great reading and interpretation skills. However, what we
observed was that Charlie has some difficulties in actually apprehending the messages of the books, and
that his erroneous interpretations seem to be directly related to his difficulties in comprehending and
interacting with his surroundings. This work will analyze some of his insufficient readings and what is
behind them, trying to establish a relation between the act of interpreting a text and his self-knowledge
and (non) passivity.
