摘要：In this paper the onymic name is considered in its capacity as a language unit. Its nature as a component of idioms has been compared in German, English and Russian. Throughout the research the comparative similarities and differences between the mentioned languages were highlighted and the linguistic and extralinguistic principles were identified.
