摘要：A partir del análisis comparativo formal del vocabulario de dibujo Best Maugard con el del Art Déco que se realizó en México –en el campo de la arquitectura, ilustración gráfica, de objetos y joyería– se concluye que el abecedario propuesto fue una estrategia lingüístico-plástica pertinente frente a las necesidades sociales y estéticas de este momento histórico en México. Ambas gramáticas visuales convergieron para la representación de un arte nacional basado en elementos del arte prehispánico, dando como resultado un código lingüístico propio del arte mexicano y que, a su vez, fue aceptado internacionalmente como símbolo de modernidad. En la investigación se utilizaron el método histórico-deductivo para demostrar las tendencias nacionalistas/plásticas de la época, y un análisis visual por patronaje entre el Método Best Maugard y el Art Déco.
其他摘要：From the formal comparative analysis of the Best Maugard vocabulary with Mexican Art Deco –architecture, graphic illustration, objects and jewelery– it is concluded that the proposed alphabet was a relevant linguistic-plastic strategy for the social and aesthetic needs of this historical moment in Mexico. Both visual grammars converged for the representation of a national art based on pre-Hispanic elements of art, resulting in a linguistic code typical of Mexican art, and which was internationally accepted as a symbol of modernity. In the research, the historical-deductive method was used to demonstrate the nationalist and plastic tendencies of that time, and a visual analysis by pattern design between the Best Maugard Method and the Art Deco.
