  • 摘要:Many assumed that news in the mass media is the result of the work of reporters who descended directly to the place of occurrence. However, in practice any news source can be derived from the writings of public relations practitioners are known as press release. The Press release is a medium that contains about everything happening in a company. Information in press release is deliberately created and sent to the media for published. Not just stopped by knowing the mechanics here, but researchers also saw corporate issues raised who that make the media interested to packed up into a the news. To answer this question, researchers choose news which was taken from five press release state companies and five press release private company. While the news relies from press release the company loaded in a newspaper Jawa Pos the period November to Desember 2012. With use of research descriptive analysis resercher will illustrate, explain and to analyze data that was founded by research. Based on the results of research has been carried out, found a few things really quite startling. Although the news that is loaded in Jawa Pos period November to December 2012 taken from press release the company has no means the whole content press release moved off hand into content the news. There are cutting content information from press release into the news. Although is thus not a bit too content news that having a level the resemblance of the high with the content press release. In addition, corporate issues dominated is the issue of the financial company, about the state the opening of outlets / the office of a new territory and also service improvement company to consumer.

Abstrak Press release merupakan informasi yang secara sengaja dibuat dan dikirim kepada pihak media agar dipublikasikan. Selain itu pula, press release merupakan bentuk dari tools Public Relations untuk dapat menjalin hubungan baik dengan pihak perusahaan media. Namun yang tidak diketahui oleh masyarakat adalah praktik pengambilan informasi dari press release menjadi konten berita. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana mekanisme press release perusahaan hingga menjadi sumber berita sebuah media massa. Tidak hanya berhenti dengan mengetahui mekanismenya, tetapi peneliti juga melihat isu-isu korporat yang diangkat sehingga pihak media tertarik untuk mengemasnya menjadi sebuah berita. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, peneliti memilih berita yang bersumber dari lima press release perusahaan BUMN dan lima press release perusahaan swasta. Sedangkan pemberitaan yang bersumber dari press release perusahaan tersebut dimuat dalam surat kabar Jawa Pos periode November hingga Desember 2012. Dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian analisis deskriptif kualitatif peneliti akan menggambarkan sekaligus menganalisis temuan data yang didapatkan. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, ditemukan beberapa hal yang cukup mengejutkan. Meskipun pemberitaan yang dimuat dalam Jawa Pos periode November hingga Desember 2012 bersumber dari press release perusahaan tidak berarti seluruh konten press release dipindahkan begitu saja ke dalam konten berita. Terdapat pemotongan konten informasi dari press release ke dalam berita. Walau pun demikian tidak sedikit pula konten berita yang memiliki tingkat kemiripan yang tinggi dengan konten press release. Selain itu, isu-isu korporat yang mendominasi adalah isu tentang kondisi finansial perusahaan, pembukaan gerai/kantor wilayah baru dan juga peningkatan pelayanan perusahaan terhadap konsumen.
