摘要：RESUMEN: El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar nuevas vías de análisis históricoarqueológicos sobre la transición del mundo antiguo al feudalismo en el norte peninsular basadas en la evolución y transformación de los patrones de asentamiento y modelos de ocupación y explotación del territorio, así como sobre las relaciones de jerarquización entre los asentamientos desde los periodos anteriores (prerromano, romano y especialmente tardoantiguo) como forma de entender y explicar la génesis de la organización social feudal. ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to present new historical—archaeological analyses of the transition from Antiquity to Feudalism and the origin of Feudal Society in the North of the Iberian Peninsula. The new perspective offered is based on the evolution of settlement patterns and occupation and exploitation models in the territory, as well as in the hierarchical relationships among the settlements from previous periods (pre—roman, roman and, especially, Late Antiquity). All in all, the article offers a new way to understand and explain the origin of the organisation of Feudal Society.
