摘要：Las zarzuelas sobre la Guerra de la Independencia, como productos culturales, recogen y muestran la ideología dominante en la España de su tiempo. En el presente trabajo, basado en los libretos y principales formas musicales de esas zarzuelas, queremos comprobar qué se quiere transmitir a la sociedad cuando emplean los términos “patria” y “nación”. Tras una presentación del tema de la Guerra de la Independencia en la zarzuela, y su importancia al estar relacionado este acontecimiento con la mitificación del nacionalismo español decimonónico, estudiaremos por separado cada uno de los dos términos, para mostrar su significado y cómo se utilizan. Así descubriremos que se utilizan como términos que normalmente se refieren a España y solo un leve matiz sentimental parece diferenciarlos. The “zarzuelas” about the Peninsular War, as cultural expressions, show the dominant ideology in Spain during that time. With is project, based on librettos and on musical forms, we want to check what is transmited to society when the words “Homeland” and “Nation”. After presenting the theme of the Peninsular War in “zarzuela” and the importance of the relationship of this event with the idealization of 19th century spanish nationalism, we will study both words separately to show their meaning and how they are used. This way we will see that these words are used refering to Spain and they seen only to be slightly different by a sentimental nuance.
