摘要:In the age of globalization, unlike model of the historic city, the modern city is strongly influenced by the dynamics of economic flows and information and cultural contamination. Consequently, the operational approach of the traditional administrative machinery has proved inadequate to address the complexity of the problems and has generated a new model of governance of urban areas capable of interacting with the speed with which transformations take place. The speed of change is typical of the metropolitan city, which requires a new institutional framework that is equipped with tools and infrastructure suitable to govern the phenomena of mobility, economic development and transformations under synergistic and integrated. The metropolitan system of the Strait of Messina need for a stable connection that ensures, through the conurbation of the two shores, effective governance of the territory.
