摘要：En Bogotá, tras el atentado sufrido por el líder político Jorge Eliécer Gaitán el 9 de abril de 1948, su cuerpo fue conducido a la Clínica Central donde se declaró oficialmente su muerte a una multitud que esperaba orientación política. Ante una cantidad indeterminada de heridos que requirieron atención inmediata, en condiciones paupérrimas y bajo riesgo de muerte, la clínica caracterizada por la implementación de innovaciones tecnológicas en su época, fungió como refugio en medio de la violencia generalizada conocida como El Bogotazo, fue escenario de discusión política y jugó un papel clave en la transformación de la multitud. En función de restaurar su valor patrimonial se explora un sistema de representaciones sociales que evidencia una transformación en las artes visuales y literarias colombianas.

attention, in very poor conditions and low risk of death, the Clinic, which was characterized by
the implementation of technological innovations in its time, it served as a refuge in the midst of the
generalized violence known as El Bogotazo, and was the scene of political discussion, playing a key
role in the transformation of the multitude. In function of restoring its heritage value, a system of
social representations explores a transformation in the Colombian visual and literary arts.
