摘要：O presente artigo pretende discutir a noção de alteridade em articulação com a de identidade, defendendo a indissociabilidade de ambas, nomeadamente no respeitante à construção de imagens do Eu e do Outro. Depois de uma perspectiva teórica assente em autores como Lacan, Hall, Bakhtine, Bhabha, Beller & Leerssen, entre muitos outros, o artigo centra-se no caso dos Estudos Anglo-Portugueses, cuja fundamentação teórica se baseia justamente nos dois conceitos referidos – alteridade e identidade –, ou seja, na relação entre o Outro (anglo ou luso) e o Eu (português ou anglo). Mediante a análise de diversos tipos de textos, a tarefa do investigador em Estudos Anglo-Portugueses reside em desconstruir os respectivos discursos e diagnosticar os processos através dos quais se estabelece uma relação inevitável entre alteridade e identidade.
其他摘要：This article addresses the notion of alterity in articulation with that of identity, arguing
their inseparability, in particular with respect to the construction of images of the Self
and the Other. After introducing a theoretical viewpoint based on authors such as Lacan,
Hall, Bakhtine, Bhabha, Beller & Leerssen, among many others, the article focuses on
the case of Anglo-Portuguese Studies, the theoretical foundation of which is based
precisely on the two concepts referred to – alterity and identity – that is, in the
relationship between the Other (English or Portuguese) and the Self (Portuguese or
English). Through the analysis of several types of texts, the task of the researcher in
Anglo-Portuguese Studies is to deconstruct the respective discourses and diagnose the
processes through which the inevitable relationship between alterity and identity is
established.
