摘要:Tem sido divulgada a ideia de que a Educação a Distância, apesar da possibilidade de expansão do acesso ao ensino superior que comporta, sofre algumas limitações, que passam pela percepção, quer dos alunos quer de outros agentes relacionados com o ensino superior que a Educação a Distância tem frequentemente qualidade inferior aos cursos presenciais. Sabe-se pouco, porém, sobre o conteúdo e os fundamentos dessas percepções, bem como sobre a forma como elas têm evoluído no tempo. Este artigo pretende repensar essa lacuna por meio de um estudo de caso no curso de Administração a distância da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Portanto, o artigo tem como objetivo verificar as percepções dos egressos do curso quanto à qualidade de seu ensino. Para o alcance desse objetivo, foram coletadas informações de ordem qualitativa, por meio de entrevistas, e quantitativa, por meio de questionários, junto aos alunos diplomados entre os anos de 2010 e 2014, em diferentes polos dos Estados de Santa Catarina e Rio Grande do Sul. Os dados foram analisados por meio de análise de conteúdo e de análise descritiva simples. Os principais resultados apontaram, em linhas gerais, que os diplomados demonstraram estar satisfeitos com a experiência na graduação e que o curso realizado ainda sofre preconceitos relativamente à questão da qualidade e à seriedade da modalidade a distância. Entretanto, verificaram-se indicativos de que essa visão receosa vem diminuindo, sobretudo quando o curso é conduzido por instituições já consolidadas, como a Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.Palavras-chave: Educação a distância, Universidade Aberta do Brasil, Percepção dos alunos. However, there is lack of studies about the content and rationality of these perceptions, as well how they have evolved over time. This article intends to fill this gap through a case study in distance learning management course of the Federal University of Santa Catarina: Brazil. To reach this objective, it was used both qualitative and quantitative data, through interviews and through questionnaires, respectively. The sample comprised students who graduated between 2010 and 2014, in different campus of the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Data were analyzed through content analysis and descriptive analysis. The main results pointed out, in general terms, that graduates were satisfied with their undergraduate experience and that the course still suffers from misconceptions about distance education quality and seriousness. However, there have been indications that this view has been declining, especially when they are offered by good reputation institutions, such as the Federal University of Santa Catarina.Keywords: Distance learning, Brazil Open University, Students perceptions.
