摘要：Ecuador is a country with a great touristic potential, although many opportunities are still underutilized. The country presents four very different geographical regions: Coast, Andes, Amazon, and Galapagos. Domestic tourism in the Coast region is very seasonal, concentrated in the winter holiday season. Average occupancy for the rest of the year is very low. This paper analyses the case of a small hotel in Salinas, and the strategies to maximize occupancy all year long. This would optimize the utilization of resources (investment) and it would improve local employment rates, in addition to satisficing the demand of quality accommodation for foreign visitors.
