摘要:The present theoretical study analyzes psychometrically the case of adaptation and validation of the Career Adaptability Scale (CAS). The instrument was created jointly by researchers from 18 countries, adapted and validated concomitantly to its creation, in 13 of them. Processes for creating instruments similar to CAS were not found in the literature. Due to widespread use in the area of career development, it is important to understand the adequacy of the psychometric processes used, mainly to support new studies, especially those that intend to use simultaneous adaptation and validation processes in diverse contexts. The objective of the study was to identify, compare and analyze the psychometric procedures used by researchers from 13 countries that validated and adapted the instrument according to their realities. The potentialities and eventual weaknesses of the CAS are presented in order to facilitate their use by professionals and researchers interested in the subject. The paper ends with the discussion and argument regarding the relevance of carrying out studies with similar scope.
