摘要：Although reform activities in the Turkish education system began during the Tanzimat period,the process speeded up during Abdulhamit II and especially during Meşrutiyet II (Constitutional Monarchy) period.The press activities,which began during Abdulhamit II with the "Usul–i Cedit” (New Method) activity and aiming to introduce the new educational perceptions into the Turkish education system,were important.The early years of the Republic of Turkey was a period when the main principles and ideas of the educational movements of the western reformist were adapted and practiced in a more planned way. The Turkish Teachers Association played an important role on the development of Republic Education with its publications,conferences,and meetings,including Educational Meeting (1921) before the establishment of the Republic.The publications that were published by The Turkish Teachers Association main center and its branches in the Anatolia were very effective in introducing the new educational system. The journal of Çanakkale Muallimler Birliği was one of these publications.This professional journal,published by one handful idealist teachers between May 1926 and August 1926,had also,even locally,cultural,artistic,and literary aspects.In the journal of Çanakkale Muallimler Birliği,educational articles that were affected by Western educational ideas that appeared in the early 20,th century were noticeable.These articles departed from the traditional educational perception of "Child Oriented Movement” and "Labor School”.These articles attempted,even locally,to establish educational system that raises a new human model that is able to use their knowledge in practice productively,and actively.According to the journal,students gain the knowledge from modern school not as an ornament but as a tool that he may use in his real life. In addition to educational problems,the problems that aroused from reform of the alphabet,the history of Çanakkale,news and articles about Troia,health problems,agricultural issues,geographical topics,literary works such as poems and theater were mentioned in the Journal of Çanakkale Muallimler Birliği. With all these features,despite of its short publication life,the journal of Çanakkale Muallimler Birliği,provided important contributions to cultural life and especially to educational life.
