摘要：The aim of this paper was to point out how important tourism is for a country’s economy as well as how much it contributes in the process of value creation at macroeconomic level.The economic importance of tourism is reflected in its direct,indirect,induced and total contribution to the GDP,the workforce occupancy rate,but also capital investments.The main purpose of the present case study is to show the contribution of tourism to the national economy of Romania and at the same time see where it stands in terms of tourism economic contribution in comparison with its principal competitors.
