摘要：Technologies of creating images on fabric occupy two large areas — light industry and printing methods. The article presents the analysis of the foil transfer technology for textiles by printing methods. Three main ways are identified, namely: hot foil stamping, foil transfer using heat press transfer machine, digital foil stamping machine. Each method is described by key indicators: equipment, materials, specificity, advantages and disadvantages of the process.Since foil transfer requires careful selection of process parameters, the main quality factors of foil transfer and technological factors affecting the creation of an image were analyzed.The main indicators of the quality of transfer of foil include: out of square; cloakiness of the foil of imprint; sharpness of foil stamping (clarity of borders); resolution; accuracy of register of multi-color stamping; depth of stamping; adhesion of the foil imprint to the printed material; the strength of the imprint to marking-up; resistance of the imprint to abrasion; light-fastness of the imprint; corrosion resistance of the imprint; resistance of the imprint to the solvents; resistance to chemical reagents.Technological factors influencing on the quality of the image when transferring the foil: foil performance and its specifications; temperature of stamping; pressure; stamping duration; the thickness of the glue layer.The results of the analysis allowed singling out the problems that arise when transferring foil on fabric and methods for their solution.Among the isolated problems that arise when transferring foil to the fabric: incomplete curvature of the imprint; fuzzy border of the imprint; punctuation spaces; there is no transfer of foil on the edge of the imprint.Methods to solve the above problems: increase/decrease temperature and/or time, change the screen plate, change the type of foil, monitor the foil position on the material, change the pressure, wait for the complete cooling of the product.
