摘要：In the texts by Viktor Astaf’ev Sheppard and His Wife and Michail Shishkin Letter Book the sentimental and naturalistic elements are interweaving,the ideal image of love collides with the brutal every–day reality of war.Viktor Astaf’ev’s work has been labelled with the subtitle "modern bucolic tale”,there also appear other elements with sentimental roots.The novel of Michail Shishkin belongs to the genre of episto lary novel,which is present in literature since XVIIth century and utilized successfully until this day.In both of the analysed narrations we can notice some correlated oppositions:man—woman,war—peace,love—hatred,reunion—parting and others.The aim of the article is to comparatively analyse both texts and to show similarities and differences in the conceptualization of the subject of war and love.

Idealny obraz miłości styka się z brutalną codziennością wojny. Utwór Wiktora
Astafiewa opatrzony został podtytułem „współczesna sielanka”, pojawiają się w nim
również inne elementy o sentymentalnym rodowodzie. Powieść Michaiła Szyszkina
należy do obecnego w literaturze od XVII wieku gatunku powieści epistolarnej,
z powodzeniem eksploatowanego do dnia dzisiejszego. W obu analizowanych
narracjach zauważyć można pozostające ze sobą w relacji opozycje: mężczyzna–
kobieta, wojna–pokój, miłość–nienawiść, spotkanie–rozłąka i inne. Celem artykułu
jest analiza komparatystyczna obu tekstów, ukazanie podobieństw i różnic w ujęciu
tematu wojny i miłości.
